renew就是“续借”的意思，如:He renewed the book foranother two months.意思是‘这本书他又续借了两个月”。比如:你在图书馆借了一本书，已经到期了但是你还想续借，这时就可以对图书管理员说: I want to renew this book.意思就是“ 我还想续借这本书。”当任何固定的期限一到，需要续约时，我们都可以用renew这个词。例如:你的汽车牌照过期了或是你的保单到期了，需要去更新或是续约时就可以用renew来表达。例如: I want to renew my car insurance ftorthis comingyear.意思就是“来年我还想续签我的汽车保险合约。”
