我们小学英语就学过，去上学是go to school。

那么如果在school前面加了the呢？还是去上学的意思吗？

实际上，go to school和go to the school都是正确的表达方式，但是两个句子的意思却大不同。大家跟着必叔一起来学习下！

go to school & go to the school

go to school 去上学（常规性出席）

“go to”有两个常规的意思，一个表示去某个地方或者常规性出席。去上学的绑定是常规性出席的，对象是学生。

举个例子：

He often goes to school by bike.

他经常骑车去上学。

go to the school 去学校（去某个地方）

而去学校的对象则不一定是学生，有可能是老师、家长、学生或者是任何人。这里加了the就是特定去某地的意思。

举个例子：

Mother went to the school for a parents’ meeting yesterday.

妈妈昨天去学校参加家长会。

in office & in the office

in office 在职，在任

in office属于一种状态，在职，在任的意思。

举个例子：

During his six years in office, Seidman has often locked horns withlawmakers. 

在任的6年中，塞德曼经常和立法议员争得不可开交。

in the office 在办公室里

前面第一点已经提及过这个要点，加了the表示后面接的是某地，指位置。

举个例子：

He was back in the office, updating the work schedule on thecomputer 

他已回到办公室里，正在电脑上更新工作日程。

in the market & on the market

in the market 在市场上

举个例子：

If you’re in the market for a dog, some breeds may be a better fit than others. 

如果你正在市场中寻找一条狗，你会发现有的狗会比其他的更适合你。

on the market 上市，在出售

两个短语看起来差一点

但是意思却差很多

举个例子：

He also canceled H-P’s line of tablets and smartphones after about six weeks on the market. 

他还取消了惠普的平板电脑和智能手机产品线，这些产品上市仅六个星期。
